03 / AVAILABILITY

Sharing the reason
is a decision.

Internal callers may hear the reason. External callers hear only the return time. Withheld numbers hear neither. The receptionist sees only the approved sentence, never the reason itself.

Presence shows who is on a call and who is available. Availability rules control what happens when someone does not answer. iQTel also controls disclosure: how much is shared depends on who is asking.

Consistency matters. A receptionist that withholds some reasons but shares others can reveal which reasons are sensitive. That is why it sees only the approved sentence, phrased in the conversation's language.

  • Three disclosure levels: reason, return time or neither
  • The level depends on the caller, not the absent person
  • Availability rules and caller ID per user
  • Real-time presence: on a call, available or paused
  • Holiday schedules and recurring absences
